Letter Number 38..Is my sandwich big enough?

A great idea to download conference and listen to the talks as they drive around.  As the Zone Leader Elder Lewis and his Companion do a fair amount of errands in a week...great use of his time.  Paul Cardal is one of Jake's favorite musicians and mine as well.

Jake shared that on the 3rd Sunday of each month the District meets together after church for a potluck and fellowship.  I would love to see all of their dishes! Jake's specialty is onion and garlic mashed potatoes..Lol.

This is the most wonderful life.

With some money my Grandmother gave me I bought a usb drive and put conference and a bunch of Paul Cardell, and I can plug it into the car and listen. I think I have listened to all of conferance two or three times now. I love it.

We met this old man and gave him a blessing of healing. we had been teaching him for a while and he had a lot of back pain and leg pain. We gave him a blessing and afterwords he asked us two wonderful questions "are there members of your church who were baptized evangilists and then got baptized with you?" and the second I cant remember, but he said he prayed and knows it  is true.

I don't know what changed this week but the whole week I have felt filled with an incredible joy that is with out end. I have felt so much peace and afirmity in my testimony it is like my whole body has been filled with light.

AND we have zone conference tomorros. I am pumped!

Love you all,

Elder Lewis

Letter Number 37 "Beautiful Day..Beautiful Life!"

My favorite letters are the letters filled with Jake's testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He invites us all to "Come Unto Christ and be Perfected in Him."  I will celebrate Easter by trying harder to be the kind of person I know I am capable of every day.

I am thrilled to be the Mother of this Young Elder who takes his mission so seriously, a person who sees where he falls short and knows the power of obedience to attain help from Heavenly Father.  He is an example and a guide to me.  I love my Son.. and I am strengthened by his Faith.

I Love Life.

I  would like to start by thanking all who were on the video that my Mom sent to me for my birthday. That was probably the best present I could have asked for.  You guys are all so funny!  It was a really touching video, it was awesome to see all of your faces!

This last week was great, the work is starting to get done on the church there is still quite a bit that must be done sooooo at the same time not that much. I think the Church  is going to get opened on the 27 soooo yeah. I am super pumped for that!  We had lots of sucsess this last week in Bassterre with a couple of inactives showing up again on the radar! One is from Dominica and she just returned and is living here agian.

Being district leader and trainer is a little..... a lot of stressfull, but I feel the promise in Ether 12 becoming realized in the work. a lot of things thatI have found as weak have become stronger, there is still a very large gap but I love it, it encourages me to to better and improve everyday! Life is beautiful and the gospel is true! I love it here! The gospel blesses families and I love seeing the happiness and joy of the people when they live the commandments! That is probably one of the coolest things for me!

I sure do love you all and I hope you are all finding new ways to improve and draw near unto God so he can draw near unto you.

Remember charity never faileth, and there is hope in every new day:)

Je vous aime tous, je vous souhaite une bonne journée!

Letter Number 36

This letter from Jake was truly music to my ears.  I love where he is but I have been missing my Son desperately during his Birthday week.  Upon reading this letter and seeing these pictures..my heart was put to ease.  He is having the time of his life.  He loves the Lord completely, he is mastering the art of living away from home, and he is making new friends.  What more could a Mother want for her Son.  Wherever life takes Jake, the lessons he learns while on  his mission will serve him well.  I wish every Mother could have this opportunity for their child.  Today, I feel so blessed.

Rebonjour tous,

I hope you are all doing well as I am doing very well.

This week was pumped full of great things, district meeting exchanges with zone leaders, teaching someone French and missionary life,  and also things a little out of the ordinary...... like the birthday of myself and Elder S! For our birthdays we slept over there and had cake and coconuts and the next day went out and got burgers, "real burgers", from this place on the other side of the island. Thank you for all the birthday wishes you have sent me! You guys really mean a lot to me.

General conference was fantastic, it was one of the best presents ever. I have never felt as edified and full of light as after conference this time.  it was truely wonderful.  Conference  showed me the gap I need to cross on my journey to eternal life with my family and heavenly father. It was truely inspiring. I loved all the talks and can't wait to reveiw my notes, let alone the talks themselves!

Study hard, fast often, pray, act.

I love you all profoundly,

ELder Lewis

Letter Number 35!

It is Jake's Birthday today...I miss him every single day.  I just miss the simple things like him checking in with me as before he goes to bed, however, there is no place I'd rather have my Son, than serving the Lord in the West Indies.

Rebonjour

So this week was pretty great! I didn't spend much time in my area as I was waiting for my new companion but he got here Thursday night nice and late and we went right to work.
I'll tell you real quick a sweet experiancce we had withthe gift of tounges and then i'll go.

Elder S and I were teaching and he didnt really understand everything this lady was saying. but he had this scripture and thought he wanted to express,  so in a broken nonsensical manner he said a few phrases of French and shared this scripture. As I went to help explain (because it made no sense) and the lady said "no itis ok i understand".

The spirit ported his words into her heart so that she was able to understand. It was truly incredible.

Love you all and I wish you a good general conferance!
